Coach Education
NVQ: National Vocational Qualifications in sport are moving on and the new coaching qualification will be "The National Coaching Certificate". This new certification will be easier to access and a real bonus to organisations participating in the scheme with their own National Training Programmes.

Any coach or teacher has a "Duty of Care" and as a coach or teacher they are in a "continual cycle of development" because information changes. As we develop and understand new statistics emerge which allows us to make changes. If we find a particular exercise causes injury or we find some first aid knowledge is updated how does that effectively get passed down to the coaches and instructors in our organisation? Being in a continual cycle of development means the NTP and The National Coaching Certification should have a three-year renewal cycle.

Any student could easily bring legal proceeding against coaches for irresponsible actions that lead to injury. The amount of claims from No win no fee solicitors against sports coaches are ever increasing. Insurers as a result have to analyse the market and increase premiums accordingly. Qualified personnel means a safer more controlled training environments, better recruitment, better retention and quality tuition, which in turn reduces the amount of claims.

The National Coaching Certification is a way of providing evidence of the following:

You meet a national standard
You meet insurers requirements
You are in a Continual Cycle of Development
